New High-quality Hard Drives Offer Avastor Quality At Affordable Prices
London, UK, July 2008: Protape, the Soho-based data storage specialists and exclusive UK distributors for the Avastor range of hard drives, are delighted to announce the arrival in stock of Avastor's new range of SDX hard drives. Aimed at photographers, audio and video production professionals, and anyone for whom reliable data storage is an essential business pre-requisite, the SDX range offers the rugged reliability of Avastor's existing HDX range of drives, and is built around the same high-quality Oxford Semiconductor chipset, but retails at a more affordable price point.
There are three models in the SDX range, all based around 7200rpm drives: the USB 2-only SDX 200, the SDX 400, which operates over USB 2 or Firewire 400, and the top-of-the-range SDX 1000, which offers USB 2, Firewire 400 and 800 and eSATA connections. 160GB, 250GB, 500GB, 750GB and 1TB versions of each model are available, with UK prices ranging from around £80 for the 160GB SDX 200 to around £220 for the 1TB SDX1000. Each SDX drive comes with a switched-mode power supply for international compatibility, built-in quiet fans, and a two-year warranty, and is supplied with high-quality cables for its connection types.
