HDD5 is high quality tape for transparent data recording. It's ultra-finely coated metal particle tape is designed for high data rate at short wave lengths. It has a robust tape structure with total thickness of 11 or 13.5 µm.

The cassette design ensures dust protection and a safety device prevents accidental unwinding of tape during transport.
